RAILWAY NOISE
ACOUSTIC ROUGHNESS & CORRUGATION
A lot of train noise and vibration comes from contact between the wheels and the track it runs over.
If the track is corrugated or rough, then extra noise and vibration will be produced.
It is usually cheaper to treat noise at its source. So before building noise barriers or other expensive treatments, consider checking the rail condition first.
Hire our Corrugation Analysis Trolley (CAT) to determine the state of rail acoustic roughness and corrugation, and determine the amount of improvement possible.
Based in Australia, the device is compatible with the standards ISO 3381 and ISO EN 15610. It is available internationally.
NOISE
Undertake rail roughness measurements to check rollingstock noise levels are not excessive.
Specialist equipment for in car noise measurement; NVH; commissioning and type testing; detection of flange / wheel squeal or rolling stock defects; regenerated noise; sound insulation.
VIBRATION
Ground borne vibration; ride harshness; Machine condition monitoring; forecast maintenance and time to failure; track isolation structural dynamics; building vibration isolation design and assessment.
